I know we have already chatted about this, but I have recently purchased a small Behringer (budget) mixer that has the same spec's as my Mackie (low noise top quality)and the quality is fantastic, the build quality is good but Mackie beats that hands down However the Mackie cost £400 the Behringer cost £80. So I'm sure you will get a lot for your dosh.
I'm starting to get a bit wary about Behringer & long term reliability. We've got some DI boxes which were such a pain with noise that I avoid using them & stick to the bomb-proof Emos—also had reliabilty problems with Proel DIs. We have 2 x 4 channel compressors & 3 channels have gone very noisy & unusable after 3 years. The Ultracurve, V-Verb & Ultragraph are fine, but we're getting a few reliability issues with the Soundcraft LX7 desk as well. It's adding some ultrasonic signal which I can't track down & connections are becoming dodgy. Apart from the DI boxes, all the equipment is built in & so there are no problems with repeatedly plugging/unplugging to cause connection problems. The Allen & Heath desk we had before was totally reliable for nearly 20 years so, as always, you get what you pay for!
I'll be interested to hear how your desk does, Baz. Hopefully they have got some of these issues sorted now.
